Dear all,

Recently I've been having problems with certain spam mails which cause
The Bat to completely crash during the Connection Centre download. The
Bat crashes to Desktop, the mail fails to download and The Bat will
only complete a mail check again if I delete the offending email via
my web mail interface (luckily I have this option). Since I get a lot
of spam each day I can't be sure which spam email is causing this (if
I get another will try and isolate it).

Things took a turn for the worse today. The Bat still crashed but this
time seemed to download a problem message because now I cannot open my
Inbox folder. When I click on my Inbox, The Bat just hangs and the
message list is never displayed (have left it trying for over 30 mins).
Then if you try and shut The Bat down, it won't, it needs to be killed
via Task Manager. I've noticed that while it is trying to list the
Inbox contents, CPU usage is 100%. Would seem that a certain message
is throwing the whole thing into a spin.

My system details:
Windows 2000 Pro.
Athlon XP2100 with 1GB ram.
The Bat 1.62r (same problem with 1.62q, I just upgraded in case)
Inbox has 2947 messages in it and .tbb file is 178 MB in size.
Norton Antivirus 2002 installed but Autoprotect and Email protect are
both turned OFF.

Anyone got any thoughts as to what might be wrong and any way I can
get access back to all those emails in my Inbox (which I don't want to
lose).

Cheers
Martin
