Just like other characters, the euro symbol is only available when the font includes it. All the Windows "main" fonts (arial, TNR, etc.) now have euro symbols, but you may need to update the fonts on your system to get that symbol. IIRC, you can get the update fonts from the Windows Update site. That said, I didn't tell the full story. AltGr+4 gives the euro symbol on my machine, but some need AltGr+e or another combination.
