That *happened* in versions prior to 1.63 Beta and only when messages
should be deleted from the server right after downloading them (UIDs
were not downloaded in that case). The logic is changed now. But this
won't save you from receiving dupes because they appear due to
numerous reasons, the most frequent was already mentioned - when
people send copies of a message to different instances of yours :-)
Another frequent reason is badly configured mail servers.
