This is a feature for non-English newsgroups. It was made for Russian fido7, where content-type header is not present in messages. MyGate checks if message already has content-type set, and if not -- then inserts it with "default" value, so Bat can display message with correct encoding. If you don't need it (you probably don't if you ask what's that ;), just leave it empty.
