David- I had the 100% CPU usage thing on a client's win2k server for quite a while. I went back and forth uninstalling and reinstalling among several TB versions but never could quite figure out what was going on. Pausing the antivirus software (Symantec Corporate) got things going a bit better. Sometimes.
I finally bit the bullet and reinstalled Win2k over the existing installation and everything's been fine since.
