What's to avoid? AB templates are *the* solution. Especially when
you can put all of your lists in a group and write templates for the
"Lists" group and have them apply to all lists you write to! I
actually have two groups - signed and unsigned. I use fields in the
address book to provide triggers or even QT names to invoke special
effects (list my Moderator signature below and the TB version line).

It's the Reply templates that are the problem, not the new message
templates. I just steer clear of them anyway. Address Book templates
are *so* much better.
