Allie Martin and myself discussed this issue this morning in regards to NOD32, functioning at the Winsock level, to scan incoming mail for virus and his results are the same. CPU and VM usage climb and climb the longer The_Bat! runs. Try turning off NOD32's e-mail scan function and just utilize the program's active scan function. As an active scan function is operational at open and close of files it "should" afford you the same protection against infection.
