Hello,
I am new to PGP. Tried to follow instruction given in PGP and BAT by ProPrivacy.
Since have problems with signing and encrypting, reviewed the document again and
have a few questions.
I assume the manual was written before BAT v.:2.x was issued?
Questions:
1./ Select Open PGP Implementation menu has 2 options: PGP 6.0x/6.5x plug-in and
PGP 5,6,7,8 (built in support). The manual doesn't show the latest. I presume
this is what I should tick?
2./ The BAT-PGP plug-in is not required?
3./ E-mail - a./ Use PGP/MIME when sending E-mail?
b./ Automatically decrypt/verify when opening messages?
I presume these are supported in V:2?
4./ Always use secure Viewer when decrypting? Is it supported by v:2?
What does it mean?
5./ This is not in the manual.
I choose a passphrase which is quite long (according to recommendation). During
the learning period I set the cache for both decryption and signing to 10 hours.
But somehow ant time I do something I have to type the passphrase again and
again. Why?
I wanted to change the passphrase to a simpler one during the learning period.
I used right-click/key-properties changed the passphrase accepted then got a
message "An error has occurred: object is read-only. I tried to delete my
key-pair and recreate again, but run into the same message.
Any advise?
Thanks in advance
