Perhaps you have it configured incorrectly.

Go to your editor preferences by right clicking the editor field and
selecting 'Preferences'. Make sure your settings are:

Pasting different block types:
[x] Adjust automatically

Blocks
[ ] Persistent Blocks
[x] Overwrite blocks

[x] Find text at cursor

Most of the standard editing keystrokes work just fine here.

There are some that deviate from the style most seem to be familiar
with.
