When I first got The Bat! quite some time back I ran ran it on a W98SE machine for a while and occasionally encountered the same errors (and other W98 users reported the same problems via this list I seem to recall). One of the things I did was to kill and not reload background processes that weren't necessary, and the other was to reboot a couple of times a day.
