Hello tbudl, I would like some advice on folder maintenance please.
I subscribe to a lot of mailing lists with heavy traffic. I have set up the purge options to restrict them according to age and number of emails to a folder, etc. and set them to purge and compress on exit. I was noticing a slowdown when TB! is running and almost 100% resource usage. A quick search in the forums put this down to excessive number of emails in folders, and I noticed that some had over 3000 in!!! The purge and compress options did not seem to be working. A bit of trial-and-error later and I realised that the purge-and-compress only works on READ messages (doh! sorry if this is obvious and/or documented). My question is this... what would you recommend doing to get round this. I don't read all of my emails for the lists but still want to cull the UNREAD messages according to the settings. I don't want to set a filter to mark them read on arrival. Ideally, I would like to be able to mark all messages (for this account only) read on exiting the program each time, and then have the purge and compress work on this, but I don't know how to do this. Is this possible, if so how? Otherwise, any other advice appreciated. Thanks. -- Best regards, Steve mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] There are 10 types of people in this world - those who understand binary and those who do not. ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.02 CE | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
