I'm thinking of trying to implement this in TB! using filters.

First off, has anyone done this? I'm not so bored that I want to
reinvent the wheel.

If I do have a bash at this I was thinking of something along the
lines of this.

  1. I only want to send out the OOO message once to each person that
mails me, regardless of how many messages they send.

  2. I will create a filter that puts each incoming message in to a
particular colour group the show it needs OOO processing.

  3. For each 'named' AB group, if the sender's name is found then I will
change the message's colour group to say that it has been
  processed.

  4. If I do not find the sender's address then an OOO message will be
sent and the colour group changed.

  5. When I switch off the filter I will empty the OOO AB group.

The idea behind 2 is that I can have more than one AB group which
means that I can have a list of addresses that never get an OOO
message, mail lists and the like. I can switch the OOO filter on and
off just by enabling the filter in (1) because if they are not in the
'OOO processing' group the rest of the filters will ignore them.

Can anyone see any logical holes with this?
