It appears I do not know how to use this function. When I go into folder settings (highlight the inbox and right click to properties), I have checked and set the Maxium number of messages setting to 1000 on one of my larger folders. I then save the settings, the size stays the same. The account setting is set to compact on exit so I exit, see the compaction routine go, and the open TheBat back up... folder still shows 3000 messages. I checked and set the days to keep messages to 30 days and still have emails from 2003.
What step am I missing to use this feature to self regulate the folder size??
