Dear Raymund, @9-May-2004, 21:28 +0200 (09-May 20:28 UK time) Raymund Thomas Tump [RTT] in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] said to Marck:
RTT> I would suggest that you don't send cut-mark notes to people who RTT> haven't added any cut mark :-) Thank you for taking the time to submit your suggestion. This was a moderator's remark and is therefore pretty final, usually correctly addressed and in this instance very accurate. I accept that you may have some slight confusion remaining as to why it applied to what you had posted. RTT> Or maybe it is better too add a valid cut mark if there is no RTT> cut mark to the mailing list footer. It is up to *you*, the writer to supply the one and only cut mark in your message. In the standard, the last cut mark that appears is the one used for trimming. So if the list server provides it for those less considerate users who think they don't need one, it will cancel out the cut mark of the majority of users who *are* considerate and *do* read the rules. So, in summary, when we issue a "trout", it's a pretty thoroughly considered statement being made for pretty good reasons. -- Cheers -- //.arck D Pearlstone -- List moderator TB! v2.10.03 on Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 '
