It works within TB! here. TB! offers integrated support for it. I'm
using it here as we speak without problems.

The support is integrated in the executable, i.e., support for v5-8.

The later the PGP version, the more likely you are to work with other
users messages. Once you're using an older version, compatibility
issues with other OpenPGP users, especially GnuPG users, may occur.

If you configure PGP to do so, yes. That autoretrieval action isn't a
TB! thing. It's PGP and it's there in the options for v6-8 under the
'Servers' tab. I don't know about v5 since I've never used that version.

Oh yes. :) You need to have it at least in memory. With GnuPG, you
have to import the key to your keyring before it will verify a
signature. However, with PGP, you can download the key to memory and
check the signature. You can also download it to your keyring.
However, whichever you choose, you have to find the public key and
retrieve it in order to verify a message signed with the corresponding
private key.

You can use the macro %nopgpmime in your templates. There's no global
switch for disabling PGP/MIME.

Why do you wish to clearsign? Compatibility?

Nowadays, I only clearsign when I'm uncertain that my recipients have
a PGP/MIME capable clients and know that they plan to check the
signature.
