Replying to the message was the only way to show that the ascii wasn't working! In New email, ASCII worked fine. In the reply to Thomas, it did not. If you look in tbudl from Maggie to Bats entitled Re[2]: Latinized and Cyrillized Japanese (blah, blah) thread, see the untrimmed reply in which the ASCIIs did not work. Whew! It's sometimes so difficult to make myself understood! Apologies to the list for untrimmed answer, but that was I think the only way to show the problem.
