I got a fine impressions reading this letter, downloaded MyGate, have installed, and configured it and TB, and it wont work. :-) I have read on the Help, looked at pictures of a Polish site, pondered again and again the Help, and cannot find that I did anything wrong. Except perhaps only one thing, which seems "variably" in all text with solid and clear instructions: the local ports for Gates. The Help is murmuring: "Each gate should have it’s own unique port. It shouldn’t be used by any other gates or programs. If you take a random 4-5-digit number it will probably be free. If gate won’t start later, then you’ll have to try to use another port." So, the gate wont start later, and I did try to use another ports, and I was using them, and using, and using... and got asleep, and gone to bed. I have changed about few dozen of "another ports" of a "random 4-5 digit number" starting with 3.000 and above till around 30.000, all of them free and not used by any other program of mine. My question is: What is a magic/winning port number/combination? Is there any "sample", an example someone uses it successfully? I do not like to see anymore the message: "Could not connect to the server". It's very disappointing, and instills grumbling feelings. Theoretically, a possibility exists that I didn't set something else finely, but multiple checking outs didn't get any of such errors. Settings are very simple and I don't know why this wont work. I would be very proud of myself if I could fire up eventually this apparatus and get my first news loads via TB. Grateful for any help. - -- Mica PGP key uploaded at: <http://pgp.mit.edu/> once just before breakfast -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iD8DBQFBLKaX9q62QPd3XuIRAuEHAJ45xEbIjyRaDcOnGu/68m11SwVUugCfXxFK 6cr1n/iWQxBWmt1CUO+cz4w= =kVSJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.12.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
