I suppose not. Apparently the name comes from Switzerland and it's a
familyname.

In 2003 I was rehearsing for a play 'Palsjaske & al zijn meesters", an
adaptation of "A Servant of Two Masters" by Carlo Goldoni.

[Short extract: http://mypeoplepc.com/members/davidzarko/Servant.htm ]

In that adaptation someone said : "and of course Jos Chevrolet isn't here
either". I thought that was only a fictitious name, until earlier this year
when I was rehearsing for a short play that we were to play in The
Netherlands.

One of the other actors was the abovementioned Jos Chevrolet and he turned
out to be one of the few living relatives of the man that founded the
Chevrolet company (now owned by General Motors). Earlier on he had been
offered a job by GM, but since Antwerp is farther away ( 50 km) he now works
in Brussels ( 10 km) for... Volkswagen :-)
