OK, here we go.
First of all I must point our that I have my mail directory separate from
my TB installation one and that it is this directory what I basically
backup.
So, in TB's Options/Preferences/System/Mail directory I have:
G:\The Bat\Mail\
Now, my "The Bat" Profile in Second Copy 2000 is as follows:
What?
Source Folder: G:\The Bat
Include subfolders: selected
Which Files?
All files and folders
Where?
\\Puli\F\The Bat (I make backup up on different computer in my network)
When?
Frequency: Manual
How?
Exact Copy (Copy source to destination, delete obsolete files from
destination)
Overwrite destination files even if they are newer than source
files: selected
I must perhaps clarify that this type of copy does _not_ mean
that every single file is backed up (copied) every time I run
this profile. It _only_ copies those files that have changed
since the last backup.
Advanced Properties button:
Run Programs tab:
Run program before running profile:
regedit /e "G:\The Bat\tbreg.reg" hkey_current_user\software\rit
Wait for program before proceeding: selected
This, as you can see, is to export and save TB's registry
settings just before doing the backup.
And that is it. I usually run this profile manually every night within
a Group of profiles to backup my databases, docs, etc.
If you ask why don't I backup TB's installation directory, my answer is
that I usually don't backup anything I can recover by re-installing.
HTH.
