Or you could set an Unread Messages display shortcut. I have this set to Ctrl+# for Show Only Unread Messages and then I use the preset shortcut Ctrl+= to show all messages if I want to see everything. Set shortcuts via Alt+F12 then look down to find Main Menu > View > Display > Only Unread Messages and double click to open the box to set the shortcut.
