I knew the part about the .exe in the beta releases, but I thought the
comparison chart of the Home and Pro versions on the RitLabs website
page meant there was something different about my installation which
is conserved.

I do see one thing conserved through all my beta installations:

Checking Help/About, the image of The Bat!'s document says
"Professional Edition" just above the current version number. So where
in the TB! directory should I see the file which puts this up?
