I have seen something _similar_ to this since many versions ago (I don't
remember since which version) and I can actually reproduce it at will. I
have never reported this because, at least in my case, it is just a
_temporary_ change that can easily be corrected and I guess I considered
it a minor bug/issue. I will explain.

I'm looking at my TBUDL folder with a View Mode that I call "Threads
(only From)" in which, quite obviously, I display threads by Reference
and do not display the "To" column. Well, if I right click on my TBUDL
folder and change to <Generic View Mode> the "Message Flags" column
(envelope), that happens to be the left most column in this generic
mode, becomes unreasonably wide. Actually, as wide as the Message List
pane is.

If I say above that this is just a _temporary_ change easy to correct is
because if I select any other folder and then come back to the TBUDL
one, the Message Flags column will then have the right width. That is,
it is not a permanent change and I have considered this a "minor" bug
because, once I set a view mode for a folder, I hardly ever change it.
