That's the problem with multiple entries, it's a bit unpredictable
what entry takes precedence

In that case I'd suggest to alter those AB group templates into quick
templates (QT) and make the AB templates call the QT. Now when you
want to call a specific template for one of your entries that's in
both groups, you simply call the QT you want.
In this case it's not really an address book template you want to
call, after all you want to be able to use multiple templates for one
contact depending on the situation.
