Hello Allie,

AM> Unfortunately, this shortcut works when the editor is in focus. I
AM> assigned the shortcut as N, and now in the editor, I can't type 'n'
AM> when editing.

This is normal behaviour - it's very much like the previous versions.
The menu of the main window is considered as "global" and it handles
all keystrokes that were not handled by menus of the currently active
window. Therefore, single-character shortcuts should not be used in
the main window menus, such shortcuts should be defined in pop-up
menus of window panes.
