This is normal behaviour - it's very much like the previous versions. The menu of the main window is considered as "global" and it handles all keystrokes that were not handled by menus of the currently active window. Therefore, single-character shortcuts should not be used in the main window menus, such shortcuts should be defined in pop-up menus of window panes. -- Cheers!
