I'm also experiencing the same dismay, after another user said, "oh I
have Agent shortcuts configured," I did a few, and then every time I
typed an 'r' in the compose window, it popped open a new reply to
myself.  Grr...

How can keystrokes for the main window be stuck in the main window,
and not "run over" into other windows?  For that matter, if I redefine
single-key actions, can I still use the search toolbar if I manually
put it into focus?
