The customize dialog can be found under View / Toolbars / Customize...

But I cannot figure out how to set a color group from there, I found
the mMsgColorGroupSelect and added it to the Shortcut collection,
assigned a hot-key and it did not set the color group when I tried.

You can make a filter in the "Filter Office" that sets the color group
and set manual filtering only and attach a hot-key to it.
