Robert, if you have problems sometimes to remember lots of (new) informations at once, I think it's better and more practical to use GnuPG with TheBat, at least in the beginning, than PGP, since with PGP is situation much more complicated. GnuPG is freeware, open source, and has much better and more consistent documentation. It also has much better integration with TheBat. If you decide to try GnuPG, link is here: <www.gnupg.org>.
