OK, I am beginning to get a more narrow handle on this:
If View | Global View Mode -->
Is Set To anything other than ' No View Mode' then:
All attempts to change Any folder's view mode FAIL
I noticed as I put cursor on message list columns and RMB and I see
that the CORRECT 'View Mode' IS selected already. However, what
displays is actually what has been previously set under
'Global View Mode' . And one may not modify that.
This may be intended merely to befuddle idiots like me. Rather
elaborate though, it is.
