I haven't used it, but many of us TB users who also run mailservers
use Mercury Mail, which is a free and very feature rich mail server.

It works very well with TB in POP3, SMTP, IMAP4 etc. Even using TLS.
One caveat on IMAP... It worked and did what I needed it to with TB,
but there are more fluent IMAP TB users who might have other opinions
and they'll probably be more accurate than mine.
