Thank you for that information and for your going to the trouble to
research it for me. I should have done that myself at the Gmane
archive.

This solution had already occurred to me.
Another alternative is for me to unsubscribe from both lists and go
back to my Comcast.net account, which I still have, and resubscribe
from there.
When I lost TB! last week, I impulsively unsubscribed from both lists
because I seldom received mail at my Comcast account, except from
these lists, and I didn't want to have to visit the web interface to
read it. It was a hasty move that, with a little forethought, I might
have avoided since I had to rejoin the list to get help in restoring
my TB! installation.
Resubscribing from Comcast seems like the best alternative to me. The
filters and folders are still set up in that account anyway.
Again, thanks to your help and suggestions I have an acceptable
solution, so we can let this SOT thread die.
