You need more patience. I had that same with TBv2 when compressing large folders (it seems to depend on how many MB of not deleted messages are left in the Inbox), just let it sit and wait it out. s> Soooo ... You cancelled the compress action, which actually creates a new file on the disk. This was not completed, so TB goes by default back to the old file. This works as desired. s> I was able to "undelete these messages", one at a time, and have s> them restored to the Inbox folder. Deleting them again did not seem s> to get rid of them. "Deleting" a message in a folder is just setting flag which tells TB not to display them. to actually get them deleted from the database, you need to "compress". That's the way it works. s> Is there a way to retrieve all these deleted messages in mass versus a s> one by one process and really get rid of them? I wish to get rid of s> them as obviously they occupy quite a bit of space. I also suggest to purge & compress more regularly. If you are not sure whether you want to delete a message (so that you can restore it later if need be), move those to an extra folder called "Maybe deleted" by using Account / Properties / Mail Management / Deletion. -- Cheers, Thomas.
