Hello TBUDL,

Last Thursday, we had a server problem in the office. The server was
not down but acted erratically, I don't know the details. However, it
was fixed within only two days, hurray. (Don't get me started on our
sysad...)

Everybody was back to normal with their company-policy Eudora Light, I
was the only one still needing an hour to download a few hundred KBs
worth of messages. TB used up an average of 92% of the CPU time, going
up to 100% when I had created a message and put in the Outbox (which
took several seconds to complete). When TB was idle, CPU usage was 0%.
Confusing.

I finally checked for bat*.tmp files. There were over 65,500 of them
on my computer, from bat1.tmp all the way to batFFFF.tmp. Deleting
these solved my problem immediately.

So, if your TB is slow, check whether there are any bat*.tmp files in
your system's %temp% directory and delete them while TB is closed. I
thought I'd share this experience with you.

Thomas.
