[SOT] Because SP2 causes my PC to become unusable due to constant crashes, freezing or spontaneous re-boots. The most obvious symptom is that windows explorer "experiences a problem and needs to shut down" if I double-click or right click an icon (almost any icon). This is followed within a couple of minutes by Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger also "experiencing a problem and needing to close down" and I can then do nothing until I do a three fingered salute and kill several instances of Dr Watson from the task manager...... Have tried repeatedly to find a solution to this. Most suggestions relate to software clashes with SP2 but always software that is not present on my machine. OEM copy of Windows XP SP1 so I do not have an installation disk, although there is a partition on my HD containing an image to restore to "out of the box" state. I could back everything up and try that but what would be the advantage?
