Thanks Dave! I have now tried to send a message from my Google Mail account to 
an other account of me and I get:

Unknown CA Certificate

The server didn't provide a root certificate during the session, and there is 
no corresponding root certificate in your address book. This connection may not 
be secure. Please contact your server administrator.

Google Mail, however, does not have on their site contact addresses.

PS.: I don't have a certificate for my Google Mail account!
