Sorry for the audacious subject, but TheBat! simply refuses to authenticate with Gmail SMTP while the exact same settings work with Thunderbird.

My alternative settings are in brackets. (No surprises here though): SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com Connection: TLS (STARTLS), Port: 465 (587) Perform SMTP authentication (RFC 2554) is *checked*. Use specific setting is *selected*. User: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Password: correctpassword Require secure authentication is *unchecked*. I've tried every single permutation of the above settings as a search in this forum (using "gmail smtp") has thrown to me. Can someone kindly point me in the right direction? I've been using TheBat! since 2000-2004. Unfortunately, the lures of open source seduced me to Thunderbird.
