Hi,

I hope you guys can help with this problem:

We've recently upgraded from TB 1.62 to the most recent (3.yadda yadda,
christmas edition). Our set up is a small office network (6 users), all using
the same account group login. There is 1 shared mail account, which everyone can
access, and move emails around among various sub folders. Essentially we are a
business that only has 1 email address, and we then divide up the incoming mail
into each workers sub folders.

In TB 1.62, we had one computer set up as the "local server", and all send and
receives were done from there. The other computers could not access the "real
server" (i.e. the mail server from the hosting company) (sorry if I'm not
explaining this very well, my IT knowledge is a little limited). To reiterate,
all the computers had the same account group login, even the "local server".

We upgraded to TB 3.xx, installing straight over the top of the original
installs, and it seemed to work well. Mmmmmm. Pretty icons. Later, however we
found that we were getting multiple copies of emails received, and sent. Further
investigation seems to yeild that TB has done away with the old server/client
install modes, and all the computers could do direct send and receives with the
"real server". In the account properties options box, we have periodical mailbox
checking every 5 minutes. This option seems to be universal among the machines,
and unchecking the box on all but the original local server machine sometimes
works, but the box sometimes also mysteriously "rechecks" itself.

A trawl through the help files talks about server and client modes, but the
instructions there refer to options in the "network and administration" tab that
don't seem to appear. Apparently you have to check the "TCP/IP or Dial-Out
Server (server) mode".

Does anyone know where these option has gone?

Any help would be most appreciated, as email is vital for our business, and any
irregularities in our messages is very harmful for us.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Rob Brook
