I think I may have created some contacts directly in the group and not in the address book, I have corrected those now. What also confused me was that I moved/copied some contacts from a group to the main address book and they seemed to disappear. I have now discovered that they were displayed as, e.g., Mrs Ann Brown (under 'M') when I was looking under 'A'. I wonder whether to export them all to a spreadsheet to clean them, unfortunately that can often mean losing some things when re-importing. I will think about it.
