One difference is that the drop-down list under the "right chevron" varies per account. Change the active account for your message and the address drop-list changes. My memory tells me there was once a setting to complete only from address books and to choose which address books to include but I can't see that in 4.0.38. > I'd rather not nuke the whole history unless I have to.
