Hung, Would it be difficult to have nightly update site and/or downloadable update site archive? Then users can pickup new versions right from Eclipse without messing up with copying and unzipping files. Many projects do that for nightly and dev builds (i.e. FindBugs, Mylar)
There is an article about building update sites from Eclipse [1], but you can do it manually from scripts. Update site structure is quite simple, it is just two folders with features and plugins and piece of site.xml that link it all together. the only catch is that qualifier (x.x.x.qualifier) in all plugin jar names and version need to be updated for every new build. regards, Eugene [1] http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-Update/keeping-up-to-date.html Hung Huynh wrote: > Hi all, > > I've made the change so that you can now just download and unzip the > plugin directly into your "eclipse/plugins" folder. > > Hung- > > > Hung Huynh wrote: >> Right now, we kinda make people jumping through hoops to manually >> install eclipse plugin from nightly. >> >> The current process is this: >> >> 1.
