[** Apologies, if you receive multiple copies of this call **]* ** Building Next-Generation Converged Networks: Theory and Practice* To be published by: *CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, USA* URL: http://staff.iium.edu.my/sakib/NGN_CRC_Book/ngncrcbook.html
*Overview * The success and impact of the Internet and packet-switched networks, introduction of multiple interfaces of mobile nodes, recent advancements of various networking technologies, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), etc. have sparred the dream of providing a seamless architecture for various access technologies. Alongside the rapid growth of the implementable access technologies, the easy access to various technologies with relatively lower price is showing us a cloudy idea about the actual status of the next- generation networks. Some visionary works have already been done, some are simply in the status of proposals, and some have found new ways of solving old problems. Numerous networking areas both from wired and wireless fields could contribute towards the development in this area. Moreover, resource constrained devices and their potential mass utilization show us the picture of a complex blend of different technologies in the future. This book aims at compiling the recent advancements as well as some basic issues in these related fields which could contribute together towards the materialization of future networks. This book will aim to provide relevant theoretical frameworks and the latest research findings in the area. It will be written for graduate students, researchers, academics, and industry practitioners working in the area of wired or wireless networking who want to improve their understanding of the inter-related topics. Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following: - Advances in Internet architectures and protocols - Computational economy for distributed systems - Content delivery networks - Integration of IMS and SDP - IPTV architectures and standards - IPTV/IMS management. - QoS and QoE provisioning - 3P and 4P service provisioning - Streaming services over wired/wireless access networks - 6LoWPAN architectures and standards - Mobility issues in 6LoWPAN - Security issues in 6LoWPAN - Interconnection networks and collaborative systems - Internet-based knowledge engineering - Internet search technologies - Network-based applications (VoIP, streaming) - Network management and traffic engineering - Security in communication networks - Sensor networks and applications - Wireless and distributed networks *Submission Details * Each manuscript must be written in a tutorial manner so that it can be easily accessible for the readers outside the specialty of the area. Expected manuscript length is between 9,500 to 12,500 words. Manuscripts submitted for the book must be original, must not be previously published or currently under review anywhere. Please follow A4 page format with 11 point Times New Roman font with 1.5 line spacing while submitting your manuscript as MS-Office document. Directly via email to the corresponding Editor (see below). CC to others is preferred. A proposal for each chapter is needed as soon as possible before submitting the full chapter. *Important Dates * **Full Manuscript Due: January 30, 2012 Acceptance Notification: April 30, 2012 Revised Chapter Submission June 01, 2012 Final Acceptance Notification June 30, 2012 Submission of Final Chapters July 30, 2012 Publication Time: 2nd half of 2012 (tentative) *EDITORS * *Dr. Al-Sakib Khan Pathan (Corresponding Editor)* Department of Computer Science International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Malaysia [email protected] * Dr. Muhammad Mostafa Monowar* Department of Computer Science and Engineering University of Chittagong, Bangladesh [email protected] , [email protected] *Dr. Zubair Md.
