Dear colleagues, (apologies for cross-posting) We would like to invite you to submit papers to the track on Attribution, Attrition and Anti-forensics at the 11th European Conference on Information Warfare taking place at the Institute Ecole Supérieure en Informatique, Electronique et Automatique, Laval, France
http://academic-conferences.org/eciw/eciw2012/eciw12-call-papers.htm This track is dedicated to the identification of attackers and the attribution of cyber-attacks to individuals, hacking-groups, governments or other non-state actors. This includes attack profiling, linguistic analysis and technologies for situational awareness. The track also considers anti-forensic techniques that can be used by attackers to disguise their true identity or cause additional harm to those investigating their actions. Many attacks are disguised using botnets and routed through various jurisdictions to foil investigators attempts to trace their source. This track also considers research on the evolution and graceful degradation of systems under attack and what level of attrition inflicted by opponents can be tolerated whilst still maintaining their confidentiality, integrity and availability. We welcome submissions describing models, initial research results, case-studies and experience and evaluation papers from practitioners and academics related to the following topics: * Attack Profiling and Attribution * Distributed Incident Analysis/Response * Pro-active Defence * Situational Awareness in Cyberspace * Attack Data Visualisation * Network Forensics and Anti-Forensics Techniques * Self-Protecting, Self-Healing and Adaptive Security Systems * Cyber-Attrition, Anonymity and Confidentiality in Cyber Attack & Defence Important Dates: Abstract Submission: 16th December 2011 Notification of Abstract Acceptance: 21st December 2011 Full paper Submission: 3rd February 2012 Notification of paper acceptance: 13th April 2012 Final paper submission: 11th May 2012 Conference: 5th-6th July 2012 For more details on the ECIW conference and the submission please visit: http://academic-conferences.org/eciw/eciw2012/eciw12-call-papers.htm regards, Helge -- Dr. Helge Janicke Software Technology Research Laboratory Faculty of Technology E: [email protected] De Montfort University P: ++44 (0) 116 257 7617 Bede Island 1.16 W: www.tech.dmu.ac.uk/~heljanic LE1 9BH Leicester, UK http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=heljanic%40gmail.com PGP: 3D3C ED3F 619D 1977 06A1 6F1C 0694 861A F053 8A1D _______________________________________________ IEEE Communications Society Tech.
