19th International Packet Video Workshop (PV 2012)

The 2012 International Packet Video Workshop (PV 2012) is devoted to presenting
technological
advancements and innovations in video and multimedia transmission over packet
networks,
in particular wireless and Internet networks. The workshop provides a unique
venue for people
from the media coding and networking fields to meet, interact, and exchange
ideas. Its charter
is to promote the research and development in emerging video streaming and
multimedia networking.
PV 2012 will be held in Munich, Germany, on May 10-11, 2012. As in previous
years, the
workshop will be a single-track event and welcomes paper submissions from both
cutting edge
research and business and consumer applications.
Prospective authors are invited to submit an electronic version of full papers,
in PDF format,
up to 6 printed pages in length (double column). At least one author must
register for the
workshop at full rate for the inclusion of the paper in the PV 2012
proceedings. Authors of
accepted papers are expected to present their work at the workshop. Topics of

- Large scale multimedia processing and distribution via cloud computing
- Peer-to-Peer systems
- Multimedia stream mining
- Network coding for multimedia communications
- Multi-terminal media communications
- Quality assessment for multimedia communication

- Scalable coding and delivery
- Error resilient video coding and transport
- Error concealment and post-processing
- Telecollaboration and telepresence
- Speech, audio, image, graphics, video and text coding for network
communication
- Standards for multimedia communication and related issues
- Multimedia processing and distribution in online communities
- Animation, virtual reality and 3D imaging over network
- Network gaming and graphical communication
- Security, privacy, and protection for multimedia delivery
- Distributed multimedia database and digital library
- Network economics for multimedia application
- Communication aspects of mobile augmented reality and media search
The workshop will feature keynote talks by leading researchers from academia
and industry on current topics in packet video. The following experts have
agreed to delivery keynote talks at PV 2012.

The workshop will also feature moderated panel discussions and best paper
awards.
The workshop proceedings will be available through IEEExplore (to be confirmed).
Authors should use the IEEE conference template files for the paper submission.
Authors can specify upon submission whether their submission should be
considered
for one of the special sessions or as part of the regular program.
