CALL FOR PAPERS

8th

IEEE, IET International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks, and

Digital Signal Processing 2012

July 18-20

Poznan University of Technology

Poznan, Poland

Special Session on Emerging Technologies for Secure and Energy-Efficient Optical

Communication Networks

Due to the remarkable growth of Internet traffic, there have been intensive
research and

development efforts on scalable and high-capacity fiber-optic communications and

networks. Advanced optical transmission and networking technologies have been

proposed to improve the security, energy-efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and
scalability

for optical communication networks. The objective of this special session is to
present a

collection of high-quality research papers that cover recent advances in
system,

architecture, protocol, modeling, simulation, as well as applications related
to this area.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

 Energy-efficient optical networks

 Transparent/Translucent optical networks

 Security in optical networks, optical virtual private networks (VPNs)

 Optical signal processing

 Digital signal processing and algorithms for optical transceivers

 System implications of optical and/or electronic signal processing

 All-optical wavelength conversion, all-optical regeneration

 Optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (O-OFDM)

 Optical arbitrary waveform generation (OAWG)

 Future optical access networks, OCDMA-PON, OFDM-PON, etc

 Optical label switching

 Optical cloud Invited Talks:
