IEEE, IET International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks, and Digital Signal Processing 2012 July 18-20 Poznan University of Technology Poznan, Poland Special Session on Emerging Technologies for Secure and Energy-Efficient Optical Communication Networks Due to the remarkable growth of Internet traffic, there have been intensive research and development efforts on scalable and high-capacity fiber-optic communications and networks. Advanced optical transmission and networking technologies have been proposed to improve the security, energy-efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability for optical communication networks. The objective of this special session is to present a collection of high-quality research papers that cover recent advances in system, architecture, protocol, modeling, simulation, as well as applications related to this area.
