(fully owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, www.narus.com), the leader in real-time Traffic Intelligence for the protection and management of the largest IP networks, is looking to fill several Research and Development positions in the Office of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Known for its innovation, the CTO team is a melting pot of researchers and engineers with diverse interests and backgrounds. Current research in the team include topics from data/web mining and machine learning, graph theory, protocol reverse engineering and binary analysis, speaker recognition technology and semantic text analysis, and networking to name a few. Thanks to the Narus Fellows Research Program (http://www.narus.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=79&Itemid=37), the CTO team constantly works with faculty and students (16 PhD students interning for 3-6 months just in 2011!) from over 20 top-notch universities in the world, and strives to publish the innovative work in top-tier conferences and journals. Over the last 5 years, the CTO team has added over 35 patents to its portfolio and has published over 50 research papers in top conferences such as Sigcomm, Mobicom, Sigmetrics, Infocom, IMC, etc, while recruiting the most talented students through the program. This position in the CTO team will expose the successful candidate to the most challenging problems that our customers face and provide an opportunity to collaborate closely with academia to solve these problems. The ideal candidate should have a solid networking/system background and would spend his/her time in leading new research projects as well as transforming current research projects into cool demonstrable prototypes. The requirements for this position are: MS/PhD in CS/EE or any related field Solid experience in developing applications in Linux/GNU environment along with very strong programming skills in Object-Oriented paradigm (Java or C++), and scripting languages (Perl/Python/Ruby/Shell) A thorough understanding of the TCP/IP stack Expertise in the one or more of the following areas is required. This should be demonstrable through prestigious conference/journal publications in the recent past. Cloud/Distributed/Parallel Data Computing and Management Large Scale Distributed Systems Streaming algorithms for massive amount of IP data Scalable and parallelizable algorithms for massive amount of IP data Binary program analysis (static and/or dynamic) Web/Social Networks Mining and Information Propagation The candidate should have an entrepreneurial drive to champion the new technology both within and outside the company.
