Disney Research (http://www.disneyresearch.com) is an informal, collegial association of research labs within The Walt Disney Company. Disney Research Zurich is a research laboratory associated with ETH Zurich, one of Europe's leading technical universities. Disney Research Zurich has now an immediate opening for a full-time postdoctoral position in the area of wireless communications and networking, with emphasis on practical test-bed activities and creative application design. Candidates must have a PhD degree in EE/CS by the time of the appointment, and must have a strong command of English. The initial appointment is for two years with review after one year, and with the possibility of extending the appointment. Research focus lies in the area of wireless networks, iOS applications, and games. Typical use cases are mobile games, connected toys, and networks for entertainment parks. The work will include collaboration with Disney's business units.
Research experience in some of the following areas is desired: - IEEE 802.11/.15 , mesh networks, white space, free-space optical networks - software defined radio, GNU radio, Soekris, Atheros chipsets - iOS and Android applications - IoT, ZigBee, Contiki, embedded systems - mobile games and augmented reality, computer vision, robotics - prototyping, analytical modeling, simulation Applications should be emailed to [email protected], and should include CV, list of publications, and references.
