We apologize if you receive multiple copies of this CFP Call for papers: Open Special Issue of International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks A Smart Grid consists of multiple components, such as existing power infrastructure, sensors and actuators, communications, and control systems, that must work together in order to realize the potential of a more reliable and efficient nationwide power infrastructure. This infrastructure is needed to support new applications and technologies, such as renewable energy, green computing, and electric vehicles.
The objective of this special issue is to bring together researchers from different domains to address key issues related to the development of the Smart Grid. Prospective authors are invited to submit original and review papers on various aspects of Smart Grid, especially those involving sensor- and actuator-based cyber-physical systems (CPSs). Potential topics include, but are not limited to: * Wireless and wired networking for Smart Grid operations (includes routing, MAC layer, and spectrum managements) * Physical and cyber security for Smart Grid * Privacy issues related to Smart Grid applications * Smart Grid management issues (e.g., reliability, load balancing) * Modeling and algorithmic aspects of Smart Grid operations (e.g., game-theory-based scheduling, fault detection) * Data mining and knowledge discovery related to Smart Grid operations * Novel end-user and cyber-physical applications that take advantage of Smart Grid architecture * Position papers on future or alternative Smart Grid architectures Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijdsn/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable: Manuscript Due: Friday, 2 December 2011 First Round of Reviews: Friday, 2 March 2012 Publication Date: Friday, 1 June 2012 Lead Guest Editor Qun Li (li...@cs.wm.edu), Department of Computer Science, College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, USA Guest Editors Mooi Choo Chuah (mcch...@gmail.com), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, USA Chiu C.
