Preliminary CFPs for the 2nd IEEE International Symposium on Security and Quantum Communications (IEEE SQC-12)
Venue & Dates: Liverpool, UK, 25-27 June, 2012 http://trust.csu.edu.cn/conference/SQC2012/ In Conjunction with The 11th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications (IEEE TrustCom 2012), Liverpool, UK, 25-27 June, 2012 http://scim.brad.ac.uk/~hmibrahi/TrustCom2012/ Introduction Security and transmission efficiency have become important factors that influence the success of communications. Quantum communications, which can maintain high security of communication systems and make a serious push towards network compatibility, has fascinated many scientists and researchers for developing secure and efficient quantum communication systems. In recent years, new techniques, concepts and applications about quantum communications have been proposed to break the limitation of quantum physics, and the emerging and future technologies are driven by the need for fast quantum random number generators (QRNG), reliable fiber-based quantum key distribution (QKD), quantum repeaters and free space quantum communications. Recently, multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) technique has been widely studied in wireless communications because it can provide significant increases in data throughput and link range without additional bandwidth or transmission power. More researchers have also recognized that MIMO technique can be applied in more communication systems to improve their capacity of transmission. SCQ2011 aims at providing a forum for discussing the latest academic and industrial research results related to security and quantum communications, and MIMO technique in the area of networking and communication systems. The 2nd IEEE International Symposium on Security and Quantum Communications (SQC-12) will be held in conjunction with "The 11th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications (IEEE TrustCom-12)". It follows the success of SQC-11 in Changsha, China. It aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners in the world working on theories and technologies for ubiquitous artifacts to function safely for different purposes; for ubiquitous systems to work safely in various situations; and for ubiquitous environments to behave safely with all people. Scope and Interests IEEE SQC-12 is an international symposium for presenting and discussing emerging ideas and trends in aspects of Security and Quantum Communications, but are not limited to: (1) Quantum Cryptography and Quantum Communications (2) Quantum Measurement and Quantum Metrology (3) Quantum Computing and Quantum Information Theory (4) Implementations of Quantum Information Processing (5) Applications of Quantum Communications and Networking (6) Free-Space Quantum Communication on Earth and Space (7) Entanglement as a Resource for Quantum Communications (8) Network Protocols and Wireless Networks (9) Information Coding and Compressing Techniques (10) MIMO and OFDM Submission and Publication Information The accepted papers from this symposium will be published by IEEE Computer Society in IEEE TrustCom-12 conference proceedings (indexed by EI Compendex). Papers should be written in English conforming to the IEEE conference proceedings format (8.5" x 11", Two-Column). Papers should be submitted through the paper submission system at the symposium website. Each paper is limited to 6 pages (or 8 pages with the over length charge). Distinguished papers, after further revisions, will be published in special issues indexed by SCI and EI. Submitting a paper to the symposium means that, if the paper is accepted, at least one author should attend the symposium and present the paper. Important Dates (1) Submission Deadline: 01 March, 2012 (2) Authors Notification: 08 April, 2012 (3) Final Manuscript Due: 08 May, 2012 (4) Registration Due: 08 May, 2012 (5) Conference Dates: 25-27 June, 2012 General Co-Chairs Ronghua Shi, Central South Univeristy, China Guihua Zeng, Shanghai Jiao Tong Univeristy, China Program Co-Chairs Moon Ho Lee, Chonbuk National Univeristy, Korea Ying Guo, Central South Univeristy, China Program Committee Please check the website for the full list.
