Telecom Bretagne (a graduate engineering school aka Grandes Ecoles) opens a
tenured Assistant Professor position in Computer Science. The position is
located in Brest, France.

Keywords: future networks, large-scale communication engineering, cloud
networking, network virtualization, P2P networks and applications, overlay
networks, information-centric networking.

A short description follows.

== Research Environment:
The IDEAL research team focuses on Future Networks, and more particularly on
dimensioning, network architecture, metrology and traffic engineering. Its
members participate to the REOP research team in the CNRS Lab IRISA. They
demonstrate various skills: probability, statistics, traffic engineering,
network architecture, distributed algorithms.

== Research Topic:
The applicant shall work on network design, optimization or management methods,
which are currently rapidly changing in order to both support cloud computing
and evolve towards Information Centric Networking.

The applicant shall demonstrate previous experience in one of the following
topics: routing in the context of decoupling between name and address (for
users, resources and objects), network virtualization methods (e.g. virtual
networks APIs), large scale distributed algorithms, dimensioning methods.

She/He should focusher/his future research on one of the following topics
        • Identification and analysis of innovative communication methods that
scale in muti-service networks serving several billons users
        • Dynamic and adaptive control of services deployed over those large
scale networks
        • Cloud networking support of video applications (IPTV and VoD)
        • Operation and management, including monitoring, of virtual networks
and virtualized infrastructures

== Qualifications and Competencies:
The applicant should have a PhD in Computer Science or Computer Networking, and
demonstrate an expertise in the fields of Computer Engineering, including
distributed computing, with a good publication record in Performance Evaluation
and Traffic Engineering. Skills in Applied Mathematics and Statistics will be
useful for network metrology and diagnosis activities.
