[Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this message] Call for Papers Journal of Internet Technology (http://jit.ndhu.edu.tw/, Indexed by SCI-E) Special Issue on "Efficient Content Management in Distributed Systems"
Theme and Scope Following the technological advancements in communication networks that have enabled the reliable, fast and efficient data transport, interest is gradually shifting towards research on best serving the content that is circulated over computer networks. This content, ranging from small sized to very large scale content is constantly growing, and following the Internet and web evolution it is becoming more and more distributed. Thus, the need introduce ways to efficiently manage this content in an equivalently a distributed manner is evident. In this direction, several technologies have been proposed, including the construction and maintenance of smart overlay networks and Information Centric Networks (ICN) to fairly distribute information, and the use of semantics which can help us in giving deterministic definitions to the content. Furthermore, following the developments in these areas along with profiling technologies, we can go one step further in adapting the organization of content according to the users' needs status and generally make this organization context aware. In parallel, the emerging need for controlling access to this content using sophisticated ways is also becoming an issue of even greater importance, with the focus being shifted to the actual content that needs to be protected, rather that the principals we are protecting the content from. In this context, this special issue aims at presenting innovative techniques and ideas on the organization and delivery of content in distributed systems in an efficient way, while taking care of the security and privacy aspects emerging out of the nature of the content itself. For this, this Special Issue of JIT is addressing a call to researchers and academics for innovative papers submissions on the following (not limited) list of topics: . Content classification and searching based on semantic characteristics. . Dynamic organization of content adapted to users' profiles. . Decentralized protocols for content discovery and distribution. . Scalable protocols and techniques for content routing, delivery and management in information centric network. . Naming issues in information centric networking. . Content search, distribution and retrieval over peer to peer systems. . Security and privacy preservation in content distribution in distributed systems and information centric networks. . Scalable, probabilistic protocols for controlling content management in large scale systems. . Application of biological models in content distribution and discovery.
