CALL FOR PAPERS

Innovations in cloud computing, wireless networking and virtualization
technologies are fundamentally changing our increasingly connected world, with
mobile devices gaining acceptance for both professional and private usage, and
enterprise computing providing revolutionary gains in productivity and cost
savings. Further, in the future, a vast majority of mobile devices will rely on
cloud services to enhance end user experiences-with services being a natural
extension of such devices. Cloud wireless networking offers a combination and
tighter integration of cloud computing, virtual networking and mobility, by
distributing the benefits of cloud computing into the network, blurring the
line defining the network edge and bringing the massive benefits of cloud
computing closer and accessible to the user. Further, secure and robust
information and adaptability features together with a tighter integration of
virtualization concepts at computing and networking levels are the defining
aspects of cloud wireless networking. In order to benefit from the integrated
approach of cloud wireless networking, there are several key challenges to be
addressed depending on the applications and the type of wireless networks.
Current research efforts are mainly dedicated at the optimization of network
resources within the cloud, network access layer adaptations, failure
protection and improved reliability, improving QoS-awareness, optimizing
elasticity and flexibility etc.

The WICCON workshop aims to discuss most recent results of various
international research initiatives in the areas of Wireless Cloud Networking
applications, Internet Cloud-based optimization of wireless networks, Cognitive
Wireless clouds and Virtualization technologies for cloud wireless networks.
The workshop will bring together researchers and industry fora to share the
future research perspectives of wireless cloud networks and is a timely
initiative given the growing importance and outreach for cloud computing
integrated with wireless networking and technologies.

SUBMISSION FORMATTING INSTRUCTIONS

All submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of
five (5) printed pages, following the format of IEEE GlobeCom 2012
(http://www.ieee-globecom.org/submguide.html). All submitted papers will be
subject to peer review by at least three members of the international program
committee.

Paper Submission via EDAS: https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=12445

Authors of accepted papers (at least one) are expected to register and present
their work at the workshop; otherwise their papers will be removed from the
digital library after the conference.

Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, published by IEEE.
Extended and revised versions of distinguished papers will be invited for
possible publication in special issues of international journals (to be
announced).
